Dog-sitting

This is Galliger - the dog we got to "dog-sit" while Kennan and the other fellow were in Tucson for a course. (The dog belongs to the other fellow.) We all loved Galliger-especially Carter. He would chase that poor dog around the house for hours. Lauren played "school" with him and Preston played fetch. Even I loved having him around. I didn't like the shedding aspect...but oh well. We (read: everyone but Kennan) decided that we need a dog. I am on the hunt for a dog that doesn't shed a lot...any suggestions?

Are there dogs that don't shed a lot :) Good luck on your hunt for the perfect family dog.

You should talk to Lisa about it. I don't think Max sheds. It looks exactly like the dog in the picture you posted!
She does keep him well groomed so that may play a big part in it.
When you do get a dog, make sure you buy the roll on lint collectors- they work wonders!!! I forgot the actual name of the sticky things- LOL

Don't get a Siberian Husky....they "blow" their coats 2 times a year. It lasts for about a month each time. (although it isn't bad at all the rest of the year)

That is funny...I just read Senta's comment! Here is my advice..Comb them a lot (outside)..I can recommend a great dog comb! Make that the kids job. My boys are pretty good at it. Bath them often..but NOT too often or the vet will get mad at you because they are TOO dry. (quit laughing at me!) I think we comb Max enough that even people with allergies don't have a problem with him. Also, don't even LOOK at dogs that are black and ONLY look at dogs with short hair. Also, remind Kennan that I have a dog...yes, I DO...and I love him! Your fill-in pet looks a lot like Max. He's so handsome! GOod luck, keep me posted.

Angie,

Wow! I came across your blog (through a link sent by a mutual Michigan friend) and I am so glad I did.

It is so nice to read about your family. The kids look so grown up and cute. I can't believe what a big boy Carter is.

I often think about you guys and how good of friends you were to us in Michigan.

We have a family blog as well. Check it out when you get the chance.

So, are you guys in New Mexico?

Hope to hear from you.
